- Science
and Leadership
by Craig Ruff, President
Posits that leaders must
start grasping and acting on the findings of scientific
research and advance. Points out that most leaders of
government, business, and communities are neither educated
in nor comfortable exploring, discussing, and applying
the "hard" sciences (e.g., biology, physics,
chemistry, geology). Argues that the hard sciences, more
than the humanities (e.g., branches of knowledge concerned
with thought and culture—e.g., politics, religion, education,
law, business), are producing findings that will alter
the ways in which people earn their living, stay healthy,
and learn.
